Assistant Gas Bar Manager
Lakeland Co-op is currently seeking a Gas Bar/C-Store Assistant Manager at our Cold Lake Gas Bar and Convenience Store at 5504-55 Street, Cold Lake, Alberta.

What you’ll do: The Gas Bar/C-Store Assistant Manager is a core member of the Leadership Team who is required to work under a minimal level of supervision. This position is key to Lakeland Co-op’s operation as they are expected to oversee the Gas Bar/C-Store operation, continually improve profitability, actively engage in promoting excellent customer relations, and provide valuable feedback for Lakeland Co-op’s continued success.
The Gas Bar/C-Store Assistant Manager will:
- Be responsible for the oversight and day-to-day management of the Gas Bar/C-Store including scheduling, merchandising/inventory control, customer service, and brand consistency
- Brainstorm goals and objectives with Energy Manager then put strategies in place for success
- Oversee adherence to all company, health, safety and asset protection policies and procedures
- Purchase and market C-Store merchandise and manage relationships with vendors as required
- Coach team members, providing optimistic direction, guidance, training, and development
- Ensure superior customer service in all team members and build strong customer relationships
- Keep abreast of local competitor activity and make recommendations to support internal pricing, promotion, and product direction
- Provide recommendations for maintenance and repair, and ensure proper housekeeping
- Other duties as required
Who you are. We are seeking candidates with the following preferred qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, superior customer services skills, and experience guiding and supervising an employee team is required
- Demonstrated initiative and retail experience in a competitive environment is preferred
- Honest and trustworthy, organized and adaptable, strong work ethic, and striving to be the best at what you do
- Computer skills are required – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- The ability to lift heavy materials (20+ kg)
- Acceptance of Lakeland Co-op’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and to promote a safe working environment
- Available to work a variety of shifts including Monday-Sunday, statutory holidays on a rotational basis
- Must pass a Drug & Alcohol Screening and Criminal Record Check
